Community Living in Leaf Rapids
What sets Leaf Rapids apart from
other Northern towns?
Leaf Rapids truly is a community – our residential
neighbourhoods with children riding their bikes and residents taking
evening walks. Summer and winter outdoor activities will take you out
into nature. Our own movie theatre has free movies on a regular basis.
Community events bring the young and old together to celebrate and share
life in this northern town.
In Leaf Rapids, "Main Street" or downtown is entirely in
one buildi ng.
Appropriately called the Town Centre, it is
210,000 sq. ft. of insulated winter warmth and air-conditioned summer
comfort. It houses the municipal offices, health centre, hotel (currently
closed), school, library, post office, shopping complex, exhibition
centre, restaurant, cafe, gymnasiums, youth centre and theatre-auditorium.
Everyone meets downtown. Stop by, take care of
business, have a coffee or something to eat before doing your shopping all
in one place. Think of the gas you could save.
